Experienced Women of Color Yoga Instructors Sought (Metropolitan Boston MA)

Experienced Yoga Instructors Sought to teach and/or assist in 12-week class of teaching foundational basic hatha yoga postures, breathing and meditation techniques to people with chronic low back pain who have not done yoga before at various Metropolitan Boston Health Centers in 2010 for research study.

Experience teaching racially and culturally diverse people in varied venues preferred (i.e. medical facilities, shelters, nursing facilities, schools, studios etc.)
Minimum of 200 Hour Certification required and/or long time practice with devoted students and other pertinent credentials such as RYT etc.
Completion Certificate the Human Participant Protections Education for Research Teams required. (This requirement can be satisfied by taking a no cost training seminar which is being next being offered at BU November 2, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. (see link) It is suggested that if you are seriously interested in participating in this upcoming project that you attend this upcoming event and satisfy this project criteria.
Yoga Teacher’s General and Liability Insurance required
Experience teaching basic hatha yoga postures required
Knowledgeable in the use of supportive props, including belts, blocks, blankets, bolsters and chairs
Physical strength and flexibility necessary
Good communication skills required as well as amiable, caring and enthusiastic way of being.
Yoga Teacher must have Email, and Internet capability to communicate with team when necessary
Cell phone availability useful, but not mandatory.
Must attend training session and one or two team meetings (Training session requirement may be waived for past participants in research study)
